On March 13th, 2017, Harry T. Hancock, age 88 years, of Atco, NJ, beloved husband of the late Rita (nee Maiale) Hancock went to be with the Lord. He was a devoted father to Martin (Debra Sue), Bruce (Terry), and Mary Lynn Harkinson (Robert). He was a loving Pop-Pop of five grandchildren: Amy, Brenda, Lindsay, Amanda, and Nicholas, great grandfater of two: Hayden and Lincoln.
Harry was born to Edward and Marie Hancock in 1928, the youngest of six children. He loved his step-father, Earl Blevins, a wonderful man who served in World War I and became a second father to the family.
Harry attended Gloucester High and was a College graduate of Rutgers University where he received his B.S. Degree in Business. Over the course of a 25 year career at RCA Camden he rose from mail clerk to head of the Finance and Marketing Department. In 1971, RCA determined that his department be moved to Pittsburg. Rather than relocate his family, Harry left RCA and purchased Haddon Liquors, where he was the sole proprietor for over 20 years. He was an avid Eagles and Notre Dame Football fan. Harry loved listening and dancing to big band music with his beautiful wife Rita. Most of all, he loved his family, and missed Rita terribly till the end of his days.
The visitation will be held on Saturday March 18th, 2017 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the DuBois Funeral Home, 700 S. White Horse Pike, Audubon, NJ. A short service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. The Interment will be at New St. Mary’s Cemetery, 515 W. Browning Road in Bellmawr, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions may be made in his name to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
